Cascades face defending champion Carleton in semi-final

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s basketball team will face the Carleton University Ravens, defending CIS national champions, in the 2012 “Final 8” CIS semi-final on Saturday, March 10th, at 6PM AST (2PM PST). The Cascades defeated Lakehead University Thunderwolves, 83-71, and Carleton defeated Acadia University Axemen (AUS), 82-68, to advance to the semi-final. The games are being played at the Halifax Metro Centre, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

This marks the second time Coaches Barnaby Craddock and Dave Smart will oppose each other in Halifax. In 2007, Carleton defeated Brandon, 52-49 (Craddock’s former school) in the Championship Game. Craddock becomes the second coach in CIS history to guide two different CIS schools to the “Final Four.”

The CIS “Final Four” semi-finals will be live on SSN Canada at www.ssncanada.ca
