UFV Cascades Jenna Evans named PACWEST Volleyball Athlete of the Week

After a week-long training camp in San Diego, the Cascades were ready to re-start the season after the Christmas break. Jenna Evans stepped right back into league play without missing a step, having missed the camp. This past weekend, UFV played host in a home and home series against Douglas College.

On Friday night, UFV defeated Douglas 3-0 to take the first match of the weekend. Coach Bokenfohr rotated his Powers throughout the match with Evans playing two of the three sets and averaging 4 points of total offence per set. She led the Cascades Powers in total offence while getting back into the swing of things as each set was played.

In Saturday’s match, Evans elevated her game to the next level. She led her team in total offence with 24total points through 4 sets. She was also one of two primary passers where she passed a 2.3. Evans would lead her team to a 3-1 victory over the Royals to take home the second match of the weekend series.

“Watching Jenna play it seems everyone roots for her. She is definitely one of the shorter powers in the league, but her jump is one of the best and her constant aggression is what she is being known for,” stated UFV Head Coach Dennis Bokenfohr.
