Cascades split with Camosun on weekend

The UFV Cascades men’s volleyball team split their weekend series with Camosun Chargers, defeating the Chargers, 3-2 on Friday by scores of 25-20, 23-25, 15-25, 25-22 and 15-8. On Saturday, Camosun defeated UFV, 3-1, by scores of 25-22, 22-25, 21-25 and 25-27. The Cascades break for exams with a PACWest conference record of 6-8.
“We put the match in jeopardy when we let Camosun back in the second set, but we eventually regained our composure in the 4th and 5th to play some high level volleyball to finish the match,” said UFV Head Coach Greg Russell on Friday night’s victory.
Friday night Key performances:
Alec Dumerton tepped up huge in the 4th and 5th sets, getting 9 of his team leading 14 digs in those two sets.
Jason Boroevich was solid all throughout the night with 12 points of offence.
Victor Zych and Jon Dvorak also stepped up in the last two sets, together they combined for 13 digs and 15 kills.
