UFV Cascades women’s volleyball team sweep Camosun

The UFV Cascades women’s volleyball team swept their weekend series with Camosun Chargers, defeating the Chargers 3-0 on Friday by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-18.

“The team were well prepared for tonight and controlled the play from start to finish. We knew coming in that they possessed the top attacker in the league. The girls took it upon themselves to make her job as hard as possible. We felt we did this very effectively as by the 3rd set Camosun’s coach subbed her out of the game. This was truely a well balanced game and had key contributions from each player. Jenna Evans stood out tonight with a couple very power full attacks, one particular in the third set which was really a dagger as it sparked great energy to our side to finish the game off,” said Bokenfohr on FRiday night’s match.
Noteables:
Jenna Evans: 11 kills, 29% hitting and Krista Hogewoning: 11 kills, 4 aces
On Saturday, UFV defeated Camosun, 3-0, by scores of 25-18, 25-20 and 25-11. The Cascades sport a PACWest conference best 12-2 record at the break.

“This evening was another strong performance by our girls and we finished off our weekend sweep and head into the Christmas break with 12 wins and 2 loses. Today’s match was very balanced from every player, but wanted to recognise another strong performance from Kierra Noot. She has led the league in blocking this year and chipped in with 3 more blocks tonight. She also had an ace to go along with her 7 kills and 54% hitting,” said UFV Head Coach Dennis Bokenfohr on Saturday’s performance.
