As Coach Al Tuchscherer, Chilliwack, BC enters his tenth season at the helm of the UFV Cascades, the team is poised to compete for the Pacific Division title within Canada West. Led by a very talented core of veterans Aieisha Luyken, Mission, BC, Nicole Wierks, Chilliwack, BC and Tessa Klassen, Winnipeg, Manitoba the Cascades are deep and have played together for a least one CIS year. Add second year forward Sarah Wierks, Chilliwack, BC who was named to the CIS All-Rookie team to the mix and UFV is going to give visitors to the Envision Athletic Centre a major challenge all winter! Coach Tuchscherer is also pleased to introduce first year players Kayli Santori, Chilliwack, BC and Jaslyen Singh, Abbotsford, BC to the team. They will make a difference in their first year at UFV playing in Canada West.

Head Coach Barnaby Craddock enters his fifth season at the helm of the UFV Cascades. The men’s team have an excellent opportunity to challenge for a Canada West post season berth with the return to action of Kyle Grewal, Surrey, BC and Jasper Moedt, Abbotsford, BC. Both were excellent performers in 2009-10 and have rehabilitation from injuries are stronger than ever. Add Canada West Second team all-star Joel Friesen, Abbotsford, BC and Sam Freeman, Coquitlam, BC to the line-up and the Cascades look very confident to make a run at the CW post season tournament. The Cascades also would like to introduce James York, Richland, Washington and Mike James, Winnipeg, Manitoba as two of the new players in the UFV line-up for 2011-12.
