UFV Cascades tie Calgary Dinos, 1-1, in Calgary, Alberta

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s soccer team tied the University of Calgary Dinos, 1-1, in Canada West regular season play, in Calgary, Alberta. The Cascades record improves to 2-2-1 for 7 points. The Cascades will face the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns, on Sunday, in Lethbridge, at 12PM.

Another hard fought Canada West women’s soccer battle on Saturday with both teams having great chances to open the scoring. The Cascades would break the scoreless draw right before half as Danika Snook, Chilliwack, BC scored off a pass from Dariann Kloot, Chilliwack, BC. The Cascades lead was shorted lived as Calgary would response less than one minute into the second half. The match would remain a tie as both teams picked up a valued point in the Canada West Standings. The Dinos at 3-1-1 remain a full game ahead of UFV in the standings.

“Earning a point on the road against a quality side like University of Calgary is positive. We also bounced back after two losses. I felt that we chased the ball a lot today and ended up reacting to what our opponents did rather than having them react to us. We did have a few late chances; but failed to create sufficient quality chances throughout the game. Overall I’m proud of the effort we put in today,” said Head Coach Rob Giesbrecht.
