The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades are pleased to announce 31 graduating high school student-athletes have selected the Cascades as their school of choice to pursue their post-secondary education and compete in Canada West and the CIS in the Fall of 2011.
The Cascades compete in men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s soccer in both Canada West and the CIS. Last year both basketball programs and women’s soccer qualified for the Canada West post season playoffs with women’s soccer winning the Canada West Championship and earning a CIS Bronze Medal, both firsts for the Cascades Athletic Department history.
The women’s basketball program qualified for the CIS inaugural National Regional Tournament where they competed in Fredericton, NB in March. The Cascades will be competing in their sixth Canada West and CIS regular season in September, 2011.
