Gray and Munro UFV Cascades/Abbotsford Heat Student-Athletes of the Week, week ending Sunday, November 9, 2010

Zeon Gray, men’s basketball, is the Cascades male Athlete of the Week, leading UFV to their first victory of the Canada West regular season, Sunday, with a 28-point, 5-assist, 5 steal performance in their 100-90 victory over the defending CIS national champions.  On Saturday, Gray

added 13-points and a team high 9-assists in their 100-89 loss to the Huskies.

Lyndsay Munro, the fifth year veteran defender of the UFV Cascades women’s soccer team, led the young program to their first ever Canada West women’s soccer title. Munro shut down the powerhouse offenses of TWU, in the Canada West Semi-Final match, in the championship game, Munro led the Cascades in shutting out UBC for the second time this year. It was Munro’s ability to lead the back four in keeping UBC totally off their offensive game and registering one shot in the entire match.  Munro was the Player of the Match in both Canada West post season games.
