Cascades have great finish at 2010 CCAA men’s golf national tournament, in Kamloops, BC

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades finished second at the 2010 CCAA men’s golf national championships, held at the Dunes, in Kamloops, BC.  The Cascades finished the three-day tournament with a team score of 886, 38-strokes behind the CCAA National Champion Humber College Hawks (OCAA) with a team score of 848.  The CCAA Bronze Medal went to Georgian College Grizzles (OCAA) with a score of 896.
The Cascades previously won the 2007 CCAA and 2008 CCAA Bronze Medal, they did not medal last year (2009) finishing in 4th Place.
“I’m really proud of this group of guys for going out and performing under some very challenging conditions this week.  Finishing 2nd in the nation is quite an accomplishment and speaks to the quality of talent we have in this program,” said BCCAA Coach of the Year Chris Bertram.
The Cascades top golfer at the CCAA championships was Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC who shot a three day total of 219, good for 7th overall out of 105 participating golfers.  Brett Webster, Abbotsford, BC finished 10th overall with a three-day total of 222.  Pauls and Webster were the Cascades Top Ten finishers at the 2010 CCAA tournament.  David Lang, Humber College, was the individual champion with a score of 206.

Mitch Lock 223 (12th)
Ian Mulder 226 (19th)
Brett Stewart 229 (31st)
