Victoria defeats Cascades, 3-2, in Provincial Capital.

The University of Victoria Vikes defeated the UFV Cascades, 2-1, in the Provincial Capital, on Sunday, to drop the Cascades to 1-6-0 in the CWUAA andfall one point behind, Victoria who now sports a 1-5-1 record for 4-points.

The Cascades were first to score when 6-foot-6 striker Josh Atebe, Mission, BC leapt over Vikes’ keeper Elliot Mitrou heading the ball home in the 19th minute.  After spotting Victoria two goals, UFV would tie the match before the half on a goal by Juan Pablo Mora Perea, Morelia, Mexico, who hit a long range shot from outside the box
at the 45 minute mark.

The go-ahead goal for Victoria came in the 51st minute when Toshi Hayashi eluded his markers in the air, heading in a corner kick by Andrew Ravenhill.
“I am very disappointed in today’s result,” said UFV Head Coach Alan Errington.
