Graham to join UFV Cascades Rowing Program in September.

Samantha Graham, Langley, BC, has committed to participating on the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades Rowing program in September, 2010. The D.W. Poppy Secondary School graduate comes to the Cascades from the Fort Langley Rowing Club. Samantha will be enrolling in the Bachelor of Science program at UFV. In addition to her Rowing talents, the High School Honor Roll student-athlete excels in Cross Country Running, Dance and participated in high school Theater.

“I’m excited about Samantha’s commitment to UFV and Cascades Rowing. Samantha started rowing competitively with the Fort Langley Youth Rowing, which was initiated by UFV rowing at our home venue, and has been a great success in recruiting high-school students for the sport. Samantha competed through the spring high-school league this year, and showed terrific potential. She works well with the team, and is very coach able. She joins the lightweight women’s crew on the team, and I am looking forward to the push this young recruit will give to Varsity teammates, and the fall may see her in one of the high-level boats for the Canadian University Championships,” said Liz Chisholm, Head Coach UFV Cascades Rowing program.

The Rowing program participates in the Fall semester and competes against other Canadian Universities in the annual Canadian University Rowing Championships, to be held on Saturday, November 6th, in Victoria,. BC.
