ABBOTSFORD, BC— The University of the Fraser Valley women’s volleyball team is making a charge toward the top two teams in the standings. The Cascades won their sixth-straight match Saturday with a straight-set victory over Camosun College in British Columbia Colleges’ Athletic Conference (BCCAA) action at Envision Athletic Centre in Abbotsford.
The Cascades improved to 7-2 with the victory, while the Chargers fell to 4-8.
The teams went to the limit in the first game, with UFV pulling out a 27-25 win.
The Cascades seemed to get better as the match progressed, and eliminated the Chargers with 25-21, and 25-12 victories to take the match in three sets.
Following the match, the Cascades honoured their three graduating players – Kristine Ewald, Flannery Roy and Erin Burns.
The Cascades, winners of six in a row, host Camosun at EAC Sunday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m.
