Sasq’ets, the Cascades’ Sasquatch mascot, was unveiled on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 in a celebration organized by the University of the Fraser Valley S’olh Shxwleli (Aboriginal Access Services) and the Department of Athletics.
The festivities began with an afternoon ceremony featuring a traditional First Nations introduction, a celebration of the history of the Sasquatch, and the official naming of Sasq’ets. The event was capped by Canada West regular season men’s and women’s basketball games between the Cascades and the University of Manitoba Bisons at the Envision Athletic Centre.
Since then, Sasq’ets has appeared at many functions, both on campus and in the community. Come to a game and help him cheer on the Cascades!
