UBC defeats UFV Cascades, 3-1, at Bateman Park, in Abbotsford
The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s soccer team fell to UBC, 3-1, at Bateman Park, in Abbotsford, BC. The Cascades Canada West regular season record now stands at 1-7-1 for 4 points and 7th place in the conference standings.
The game started off with UFV attacking UBC and controlling play in the midfield. The Cascades kept the pressure on UBC and rewarded the game’s first goal at the 8 minute mark, as Sasa Plavsic, Coquitlam, BC scored his fourth goal of the campaign. The Cascades Mark Village, Abbotsford, BC made several key saves in the half and UFV led by one at the break.
In the second half, UBC showed why it is the defending Canada West champions scoring three unanswered goals on UFV’s defense, including the game winner on a Penalty Kick.
