Huskies defeat Cascades, 4-1, on four first half goals.
The University of Saskatchewan Huskies men’s soccer team scored four goals in the first 20 minutes of vplay to defeat the host UFV Cascades, 4-1, in UFV’s home opener. The Cascades fall to 1-2-0 for 3 points and host the University of Alberta Golden Bears on Sunday, at 2:15PM, at Bateman Park.
The Huslies came out on fire and tested the young Cascade defense off the opening whistle. The Huskies Jenson Barandica-Hamilton, Isla Mujeres, MA would score three times in a ten minute period to help the Huslies to their third straight league win. The Huskies fourth goal was scored by Jordan Farahani, Moose Jaw, SK.
In the second half UFV played a more competitive half of soccer challenging the Huskie defense and scoring their lone goal off a penalty kick by Sasa Plavsic, Coquitlam, BC. The Cascades net was split between Mark Village, Abbotsford, BC in thev first half and Jason Kubanski, Chilliwack, BC in the second half. Village gave up all four goals.
