UFV Cascades Women’s Volleyball win CCAA semi-final match, 3-1, over Élans de Garneau, advance to CCAA Championship Game

Team playing in school’s first ever CCAA Women’s Volleyball Gold Medal Match

Lloydminster, Alberta….The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team defeated the Élans de Garneau (RSEQ) 3-1, to advance to the CCAA Championship Game for the first time in the program’s history.  UFV started playing intercollegiate volleyball in 2004. The set scores in today’s semi-final were 19-25, 25-13, 25-17 and 25-22.  UFV will face the host Lakeland College Rustlers (ACAC silver medalists) in the CCAA’s championship match set for 7pm PST.  The Rustlers defeated CEGEP Edouard-Montpetit (Montreal, Quebec) 3-0, by set scores of 28-26, 25-1`6 and 26-24. 

Kayla Bruce, a fifth year middle from Surrey, BC was named the Cascades “Player of the Match.”
