UFV Cascades women’s volleyball team win their first ever PACWEST Championship tonight in Cranbrook, BC

Cranbrook, BC…..The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team captured the 2013 PACWEST Championship tonight, in Cranbrook, BC defeating the CBC Bearcats, 3-0.  The Cascades will advance to the 2013 CCAA National Championship tournament to be held the weekend of March 7-9, in Lloydminster, Alberta.  This marks the program’s first conference title since entering the league in 2004.  The set scores were 25-19, 25-15 and 25-17.  This marks the fifth time UFV defeated CBC this season.  The Cascades close out PACWEST regular and post season with a sparkling 24-2 record.

Kayla Bruce, Surrey, BC, Krista Hogewoning, Delta, BC and Kira Tome, Surrey, BC were named PACWEST tournament all-stars and Bruce the tournament Most Valuable Player.
