UFV Cascades Volleyball Report: Women defeat Camosun Chargers, 3-0, Men fall to the Chargers 3-0

Abbotsford, BC….The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team continued its winning ways tonight defeating Camosun College Chargers, 3-0, in Victoria, BC.  The Cascades, nationally ranked number one in the CCAA top ten poll, improve their PACWEST conference leading record to 16-1 and remaining one game ahead of second place VIU Mariners, 15-2, who defeated the CBC Bearcats, 3-0, tonight.  The set scores were 25-16, 26-24 and 25-13.    

“I thought the best contribution of the night came from Nicole Blandford (second year setter from Surrey, BC. She had a positive impact on the game right from her first serve,” said UFV head coach Dennis Bokenfohr.  “It’s about getting results on the road and a job well executed and we did both tonight.”   

The UFV Cascades men’s volleyball team fell 3-0 to Camosun tonight, in Victoria.  The Cascades remained tied for the 6th and final post season berth with the CBC Bearcats at 2-15.   CBC was defeated tonight by VIU Mariners, 3-0.  The Chargers PACWEST record improves to 11-7.  The set scores tonight were 25-17, 25-20 and 25-15.
