UFV Cascades finish in 8th Place at 2012 PING CCAA national championship, in Oshawa, Ontario

Men’s Golf at 2012 CCAA National Championships

Oshawa, Ontario…The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s golf team finished in 8th place at the 2012 Ping CCAA National Championships in Oshawa, Ontario.  The Cascades shot 309 on the final day of the event to finish 47 strokes behind the 2012 CCAA national champion Humber College Hawks (OCAA) with a winning team score of 879 at the Oshawa Golf & Curling Club.  

The Cascades were 25 strokes off the bronze medal, as Durham College Lords (OCAA) earn third place with a team score of 901. The PACWEST’s Camosun College Chargers finished second with a team score of 897.        

 

Darren Whitehouse, Langley, BC shot UFV’s best score on Friday recording a 75.  Whitehouse finished 19th overall with a three-day total of 228.  Mitch Lock, Mission, BC shot a final day 79, to place 22nd overall at 229.  Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC finished in 40th place with a three-day score of 235.  The 2012 All-Canadian shot a 79 on the final day of the event.  Connor O’Dell, Maple Ridge, BC  came in 38th with a score of 234 and Scott Benstead, Chilliwack, 57th with a three-day total of 241.
