Oshawa, Ontario…The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades Aaron Pauls was named to the 2012 CCAA All-Canadian Golf team tonight at the annual awards banquet in Oshawa, Ontario. This marks the second straight year Pauls has received national recognition for his play on the golf course. Last year, in Charlottetown, PEI, Pauls was named to the 2011 CCAA All-Tournament team at the national championship.
The fourth year Kinesiology major, from Chilliwack, BC finished the 2012 PACWEST regular season as the Silver medalists with a four tournament score of 583 narrowly missing the overall title by five strokes. Pauls, who was named to the PACWEST All-Conference team earlier this week, was instrumental in the Cascades comeback last weekend to win the PACWEST title. Aaron shot a remarkable 138 for the two-day event to lead UFV to a two-way tie with Camosun College, who basically led for most of the season. It was Pauls putt on the final hole to clinch the PACWEST title for UFV.
The CCAA national championship starts tomorrow and the 2012 champion will be crown on Friday. The Cascades go into the championship nationally ranked second in the country.
