Abbotsford, BC…The CBC Bearcats defeated the UFV Cascades, 3-1, in PACWEST men’s volleyball action tonight in Abbotsford. The Bearcats improve to 2-0 on the young season, while UFV falls to 0-2. The set scores were (24-26; 25-16; 25-21; 25-20). The Cascades started off winning the first set by two points tonight but CBC then went to work winning the next three sets to sweep the first two regular season games of the campaign.
Trevor Nickel, a fifth year middle from Abbotsford, BC led UFV with 11 kills and 2 blocks. Adam Chaplin, second year left side from Mission, BC was the Cascades leader in digs with 7 and aces with 4.
“After squeezing out the first set, we couldn’t find our rhythm in the rest of the match,” commented assistant coach Carl Nienhuis. The Cascades take on Camosun College Chargers next weekend at the Envision Athletic Centre.
