UFV rowing program hosting Learn to Row sessions

The University of the Fraser Valley rowing program is looking for new recruits.

The Cascades, led by head coach Liz Chisholm, are hosting a fresh round of ‘Learn to Row’ sessions in the winter semester and are inviting students of all levels of rowing experience to participate. To kick things off, there will be an information meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 18 in the Student Union Building Great Hall on the Abbotsford campus. If you’re unable to attend the meeting and would like more information, contact Chisholm at liz.chisholm@ufv.ca.

Learn to Row participants will have a chance to race and try out for the rowing team. It’s an incredible opportunity to learn a new skill and connect with other UFV students.

To give prospective rowers a taste of the sport, Riley Dueck of the UFV rowing team produced a documentary on the 2015 edition of the Cascades’ home regatta, Head of the Fort. It can be viewed below.
