The University of the Fraser Valley golf teams are in medal contention heading into the final day of the PING CCAA Golf National Championship in Quebec City.
The Cascades are the defending champions on both the men’s and the women’s sides, and through two rounds, the women are in second place in the team standings while the men sit third.
Jen Woods is leading the way for the Cascades women – she’s sixth in the individual standings at +14 after carding rounds of 79 and 81 at the Club de Golf Lorette. Kelley Dalzell (80-83) is right behind her in seventh place at +17, while Natasha Mackenzie (93-83) is 19th at +31.
Collectively, the UFV women are at +31, nine strokes back of the Champlain St. Lawrence Lions, the tournament host squad.
On the men’s side, Aaron Pauls has been the top Cascade thus far – he’s tied for seventh place at -1 for the tourney, with rounds of 69 and 74 on his scorecard. Kaleb Fisher (75-71) is T13 at +2, while Simon Blaker (74-74) is T17 at +4.
The UFV men are at +7 overall, trailing the Holland College Hurricanes (+1) and the Camosun Chargers (+4).
