UFV Cascades women’s volleyball off to Capilano for PACWEST playoff tournament

Abbotsford, BC — The UFV Cascades women’s volleyball team will travel to Capilano University, Vancouver this weekend as the second seed in the PACWEST provincial tournament. Although the tournament runs Feb 20-22, the Cascades have a bye through Thursday’s quarter-finals and will play their first game at 1 pm on Friday, Feb 21. Their opponent on Friday will be the winner of a quarter-final game between the third-seeded Capilano University Chargers and the sixth-seeded Douglas College Royals.

The Cascades women are last years PACWEST and CCAA champions, and will be looking to make another deep playoff run this season.

• Cascade Krista Hogewoning is third among all PACWEST players in total offense with an average of 3.91 points per game.

• Kierra Noot and Emily Carrol are fourth and fifth respectively among PACWEST block leaders, averaging .81 and .79 blocks per set.
