A determined Huskies squad led after the first quarter 23-18 and by half-time had a built their lead to 12 points, 40-28.  Shooting 36.% to the Huskies 52% in the second half was not going to make the comeback any easier for the Cascades.

The Cascades were led by Natalia Gavryliuk with 12 points.  Sarah Wierks led the team with six rebounds to go along with six points and a block.  Kabree Howard was the leading scorer for the Huskies with 18 points.

“We knew going into this road trip it would be a really good test for us to see how we stack-up to some of the elite teams in Canada West,” commented Fraser Valley head coach Al Tuchscherer.  “We have an opportunity to take-away a lot from this road trip, and that’s what we will do.”

In a battle for first place in the Pacific Division, the Cascades host the UBC Thunderbirds next weekend at the Envision Athletic Centre.
