Cascades face Pandas in Edmonton in CW Quarterfinals on Saturday
Abbotsford, BC…..The UFV Cascades women’s soccer team travel to Edmonton, Alberta this coming Saturday, October 25th to face the University of Alberta Pandas in the Canada West Quarterfinal playoff match. The match is scheduled to be played at Foote Field, at 12pm (Alberta time). The Cascades lost 4-1 to the Alberta Pandas this year in regular season action at Foote Field, in late September. UFV has a perfect 2-0 record in Canada West post season matches, at Foote Field, defeating TWU Spartans, 3-2, on penalty kicks in the CW semi-final and UBC Thunderbirds, 2-0, in the CW title match in November of 2010. This is the first Canada West post season meeting between UFV and Alberta.
The UFV Cascades men’s and women’s basketball teams will participate this weekend in the 3rd annual Honda Way Basketball Weekend Classic at the Envision Athletic Centre. The women’s team will entertain UBC-O Heat (Kelowna, BC) and Brock University Badgers (OUA –West) while men host Langara College Falcons and Capilano University Blues (PACWEST-CCAA).
Tonight’s UFV Cascades basketball broadcast marks the debut of the Virtual Broadcast Network (VBN). The Chilliwack, BC broadcast company has joined forces with the UFV Cascades athletic department in the production of the 11 Canada West regular season men’s and women’s basketball doubleheaders, the show starts one half hour prior to the women’s basketball game with the brand new Cascade Pregame Show
