UFV Cascades Student-Athletes go “Trick or Treating” this Thursday, October 31st

Walk-and-knock
UFV Student-Athletes collected 21 boxes of  food for the Abbotsford Food Bank

Abbotsford, BC…The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades student-athletes are going “Trick-or-Treating” this Thursday, October 31st.   The Cascades will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Abbotsford Food Bank by knocking on doors in the Abbotsford

area.  The project is in its third year and UFV student-athletes have been very successful as they have averaged 21 boxes of food for the Abbotsford Food Bank each year.  The walk and knock was headed by Alexa McCarthy, a fifth year Kinesiology major, and her teammates on the women’s basketball team and now has spread to the entire 10 varsity teams.  “Besides women’s basketball, we had help from the men’s and women’s rowing, women’s soccer and men’s volleyball teams, it was a great department effort,” said Chilliwack, BC native.

Anyone wishing to donate can drop off non-perishable goods at the EAC or go directly to the Abbotsford Food Bank at www.abbotsfordfoodbank.com
