UFV Cascades O’Dell & Shap PACWEST Golf Athletes of the Week, week ending Sunday, October 6, 2013

Abbotsford, BC…..The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s golf Connor O’Dell  and Women’s golf Dani Shap are the PACWEST Golf Athletes of the week, for the week ending on Sunday, October 6th, 2013.

O’Dell, a second year student-athlete from Maple Ridge, BC won the third and final PACWEST golf tournament of the year by shooting a 135 for the two-day weekend event, at Chilliwack Golf & Country Club.  O’Dell helped the very talented Cascade team capture their second straight PACWEST conference title on Sunday.  UFV will represent PACWST at the 2013 CCAA national championship event in Quebec City, Quebec, October 15-18.

Shap, a second year student-athlete from Mission, BC led UFV to the 2013 PACWEST conference title by shooting a 156 in the final regular season tournament of the year.  Shap earned the PACWEST individual Gold Medal for shooting a combined 474 over the three events this year.  She becomes the first UFV female golfer to earn the individual gold medal.  Shap was also named to the 2013 PACWEST All-Star team.
