Chilliwack, BC…The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s golf team have won back-to-back PACWEST conference titles as they went undefeated this year in regular season play.  UFV finished with a three-tournament team score of 1,717, an incredible 50 strokes ahead of second place Camosun College Chargers with 1,767.  The UBC-O Heat earned the bronze medal with a team score of 1,781.  UFV and Camosun receive the two PACWEST invitations to the 2013 CCAA Ping national golf championship in Quebec City, Quebec hosted by the Royal Quebec Golf Club, October 15-18.

The Cascades completed the tournament sweep by winning this weekend’s final event at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club with a two-day team score of 563.  Camosun finished second with 569 and Douglas College Royals third with 592.  The Cascades Connor O’Dell, Maple Ridge, BC finished first overall on the weekend with a score of 135.  Camosun’s Jarred Callbeck, Victoria, BC and TRU’s Brent Pound, Kamloops, BC finished tied for second with a two-day score of 137.

For the regular season UFV Cascades Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC finished 3rd for the three tournament regular season with a score of 428 and Darren Whitehouse, Langley, BC tied with TRU’s Brent Pound for 4th place overall with a score of 431.

The Cascades will make their sixth straight appearance at the CCAA Ping national championships, October 15 to 18.  They are going into the tournament ranked number three in the CCAA top ten poll.
