Championship Sunday in PACWEST Golf at Chilliwack Golf & Country Club

Chilliwack, BC….The Camosun College Chargers men’s golf team won day one of the PACWEST Tournament Four, hosted by the University of the Fraser Valley Cascades, at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club.  The host Cascades finished second with a team score of 285, followed by Douglas College Royals at 292. 

The Cascades are the overall leaders going into Championship Sunday  with a team score of 1,439.  Camosun in second place is 38 strokes behind UFV (1,477) with one day of competition remaining.  There is a competition for third place overall in the PACWEST between Douglas College at 1,482 and UBC-O Heat at 1,483.

The men’s & women’s golf teams look to earn the 2013 PACWEST crowns on Sunday at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club.  

Aaron Pauls, UFV Cascades, leads all  golfers with a score of 65 on day one.

On the women’s side the UFV Cascades have a commanding 37 stroke lead over second place VIU Mariners, 792 to 829 going into Championship Sunday.    Carolyn Lee, UBC-O Heat, led the field on day one of the four event of the season with a score of 79.  Dani Shap, UFV Cascades, finished second with a score of 80. 

The PACWEST Conference Champions will be crowned tomorrow at the Chilliwack Golf & Country Club.  The top two PACWEST teams in both genders are invited to the 2013 Ping CCAA national championship golf tournament, in Quebec City, Quebec the week of October 15-18 at the Royal Quebec Golf Club.
