Cascades are in 1st Place after PACWEST Tournament One

Nanaimo, BC…..The University of Fraser Valley Cascades men’s and women’s golf teams are in first place after Tournament One of the 2013-14 PACWEST golf season.  The tournament played at Morning Star Golf Club, in Nanaimo, BC, was the debut of the women’s team and they did not disappoint as they own a 19 stroke lead over second place VIU Mariners after event number one. The men, defending PACWEST champions, hold a slim three stroke lead over VIU after the first event.

The Cascades Jen Woods, Kelowna, BC and Dani Shap, Mission, BC are tied for first place overall with a tw0-day score of 161.  Kelley Dalzell, Mission, BC is currently 6th with a two-day score of 175.  On the men’s side UFV’s top golfers this weekend were Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC, and Darren Whitehouse, Langley, BC, tied for 4th place with a two-day score of 147.  Simon Blaker, Langley, BC rounds out the Cascades in the top ten with a score of 149, good for a tie for 8th place.

The Cascades travel to Kelowna, BC this weekend as UBC-O Heat host PACWEST tournament two.
