UFV Cascades on their way to CCAA National Women’s Volleyball Tournament in Lloydminster, Alberta

Abbotsford, BC….The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team are three days away from their first test at the 2013 CCAA national championship tournament, to be held at Lakeland College, in Lloydminster, Alberta.  The Cascades will face the ACAA Champions (Maritimes) Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics.  The Mystics finished the ACAA regular season a perfect 18-0, winning 54 sets while dropping only 3. UFV comes into the CCAA national quarterfinal as the PACWEST Champions finishing the regular and post season with a sparking 24-2 record.  All school records.  UFV is the defending regular and post season championships for the first time since joining the BCCAA (now PACWEST) in September of 2004. 

 The Cascades-Mystics game is set for Thursday, March 7th at 3pm MST.  UFV is in the same tournament bracket as NAIT Oaks (ACAC-Edmonton, Alberta) ACAC Champions and Elans de Garneau (RSEQ- Quebec City, Quebec) Silver medalists.  One of the four schools will play on Saturday, March 9th for the CCAA national championship at  8pm MST.
