The  Huskies came out strong tonight facing elimination after UFV’s opening night 19 point victory.  Saskatchewan opened the game with two three point shots and quickly establish a lead which they held onto going into the second quarter, 20-17.  In second quarter, UFV started to get their shooting legs back hitting on several key shots to keep the deficit under five points but a late run by the Huskies opened up a six point halftime lead.

UFV shot 38 percent from the floor in the first half and were led by Kevon Parchment, Toronto, Ontario with 10 points.

The Huskies also won the battle on the boards outrebound the Cascades 46-35.

Manny Dulay, Surrey, BC  led the Cascades with 12 points, while Parchment and James York, Richland, Washington each scored 10. Parchment also had team-high six rebounds for UFV.

“Saskatchewan came out strong tonight, we fell behind early and could not overcome their strong third quarter.  We have an opportunity tomorrow to earn a berth in the “Final Four” but we will have to play like Friday night to earn the series win,” commented UFV head coach Adam Friesen.
