UFV Cascades Volleyball: Women defeat Capilano U, 3-0, Men fall to Blues 3-0 at EAC

Abbotsford, BC…The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team won their 14th PACWEST regular season game of the 2012-13 campaign, defeating Capilano University Blues, 3-0, at the Envision Athletic Centre.  The Blues record falls to 5-12, good for a tie for fifth place with Douglas College.  The Cascades, ranked number one in the CCAA top ten poll,  remain one game ahead of VIU Mariners, 13-2, after their 3-0 victory over COTR Avalanche tonight. 

The set scores were 25 – 9, 26 – 24 and 25 – 16.  “We played a complete game tonight.  Well done ladies,” commented Dennis Bokenfohr, head coach of the Cascades.

 

The UFV Cascades men’s volleyball team fell to the Capilano U Blues, 3-0, tonight at the envision Athletic Centre.  The Cascades record now stands at 1-14, they remain one game out of a playoff spot as CBC Bearcats’ record is 2-13, as they lost 3-0 to Douglas College tonight.  Capilano improves their second place record to 11-6 in the PACWEST conference.  The set scores tonight were 19 – 25, 20 – 25 and 17 -25. 

 

Capilano visits UFV again tomorrow night, match times are 6pm for women and 8pm for men at the Envision Athletic Centre.
