UFV Cascades sit in 8th Place at 2012 PING CCAA national championship, in Oshawa, Ontario

Men’s Golf at 2012 CCAA National Championships

Oshawa, Ontario…The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s golf team is in 8th place after day two of the 2012 Ping CCAA National Championships in Oshawa, Ontario.  The Cascades trail the defending CCAA national champion Humber College Hawks (OCAA) by 35 strokes going into the final day of competition at the Oshawa Golf & Curling Club.  UFV ‘s team score on day two was 307, giving the Cascades a two-day score of 617.  The Cascades are 15 strokes off the bronze medal, as Camosun College Chargers (PACWEST) sit in third with a two-day team score of 602.        

Mitch Lock, Mission, BC sits in 14th place overall, as he has a two-day score of 150.  Darren Whitehouse, Langley, BC shot UFV’s best score on Thursday recording a 70.  The second year Arts major sits in 22nd place going into tomorrow’s final round.  Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC sits in 34th place with a two-day score of 156.  The 2012 All-Canadian has shot 78 on both days of the event.  Scott Benstead, Chilliwack, BC and Connor O’Dell, Maple Ridge, BC are both in 45th place, with a score of 158.
