UFV Cascades complete weekend sweep of Camosun with 3-0 Saturday win

Abbotsford, BC…The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team completed the weekend sweep of Camosun College Chargers with a 3-0 victory on Saturday, at the Envision Athletic Centre.  The Cascades are a perfect 4-0 after two weeks of regular season play and are in first place in the PACWEST standings.  The set scores were 26-24, 25-23 and 25-18.

The Cascades were dominate this afternoon as they played well all afternoon.  Coach Dennis Bokenfohr felt the team had a complete performance tonight. Contributions throughout the line up.  Kayla Bruce, Surrey, BC was the Cascades player of the match as she recorded 12 kills and 3 blocks.  Bruce who led UFV in offense all last year has continued to be the most dominate PACWEST volleyball player.  Named the player of the year in 2011-12 the middle is on pace to have greater numbers in 2012-13.

“It was a good end to the weekend. It was nice to see everyone making a lot of right decisions throughout the match. We continue to build week to week and look forward to Capilano next week,” commented Bokenfohr.
