Women’s Volleyball team clinches Second Place in PACWEST

The UFV Cascades women’s volleyball team clinched second place in the PACWEST conference with a pair of victories over Capilano University Blues, 3-2 and 3-0, over the weekend.  The Cascades now sport a 16-4 record and are currently ranked 4th in the CCAA top ten rankings.

UFV still has four matches left in the PACWEST regular season before the conference playoffs start the weekend of February 24 at Douglas College, in New Westminister, BC.

Kierra Noot, Surrey, BC leads the PACWEST with 62 blocks for a 1.21 average.  Kayla Bruce, Surrey, BC is also in the top ten with 74 blocks for a 0.93 average.

Bruce leads the PACWEST with 74 aces and Krista Hogewoning, Delta, BC is ninth with 56 aces.

This past week UFV honored captain Brittany Stewart, Walnut Grove, BC as the Abbotsford heat/UFV Cascades Athlete of the Week.
