The UFV Cascades men’s golf team finished third at the 2011 CCAA national golf championships in Charlottetown, PEI. The Cascades finished the two-day event with a team score of 613, 26 strokes behind the two-time champion Humber College Hawks (Ontario). It is the Cascades fourth national medal in five years.
The Cascades were led by Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC who finished fourth with a two-day score of 149, Pauls finished in the CCAA top ten and was named an All-Canadian.
‘”This was a group of guys who pulled together when they were down and fought for each other all day. It was not easy out there, but the boys rallied when they needed it most,” said Chris Bertram, UFV Head Coach. “This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for our team with 6 new faces on the roster so to finish on the podium at the National Championship is pretty satisfying to say the least. The program is in very good hands moving forward.”
