UFV Cascades Men’s Golf team finishes 5th in Victoria

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s golf team finished 5th in the PACWest tournament, this past weekend, in Victoria, BC, hosted by Camosun College, with a team score of 609. The Cascades overall record stands at 3rdPlace, with a team score of 1,772, a mere 7 strokes from the overall team leader Capilano University with one regular season tournament to go. The Cascades will host the final regular season tournament this weekend at the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club. The top two teams will advance to the CCAA National Championship Tournament, in Prince Edward Island.

The Cascades were led by Mitch Lock, Mission, BC who shot a two day total of 149, good for a tie for 7th Place overall. Aaron Pauls, Chilliwack, BC finished tied for 12thwith a two day score of 151. They were the only two Cascades to finish in the Top 12 at Victoria.

“The boys struggled this weekend on a pretty unforgiving golf course. We’ve lost a bit a ground in the league standings, but with the provincial championship being decided on our home course next weekend, I can assure you we will show up ready to play,” said Head Coach Chris Bertram.
