Cascades open PACWest regular season with 3-1 victory over Douglas College Royals

Cascades: 3 – 1. (25-13. 24-26. 25-9. 25-23)

The UFV Cascades women’s volleyball team opened the 2011-12 PACWest regular season with a 3-1 victory over Douglas College, in New Westminster, BC. The Cascades pulled away in the third and fourth sets for the victory.

“Tonight the girls were well prepared and came out serving very tough with 19 aces. We wanted to come out playing aggressive in all aspects of play, and it showed with very strong performances in the first and third sets, “ said Head Coach Dennis Bokenfohr.

Krista Hogewoning, Delta, BC led the Cascades with 16 kills. Mallory Donen, White Rock, BC strung together 8 serves late in the 4th set to clinch the victory over Douglas College.
