The University of the Fraser Valley Alumni Association and Athletics departments are pleased to announce on Saturday, October 1st the school will officially launch their first Athletics Alumni Chapter. The UFV Cascades athletics department currently has nine interuniversity programs, four in the CIS and five in CCAA all competing for national championships.
On October 1st the six teams involved in games are men’s and women’s soccer who will be playing Canada West regular season matches at Bateman Park. The men’s and women’s volleyball and basketball programs will play their Alumni teams in the Envision Athletic Centre before the official unveiling of the Athletics Alumni Chapter in the EAC at 9PM.
“The Alumni Association Board is really pleased to be able to sponsor the post-game party after the Alumni Games Day, said Tony Luck, UFV Alumni Association President. “We’re looking forward to sponsoring a day full of Cascade alumni games where all six sports teams will be in action with their alumni. It’s a great way for athletic alumni to stay connected. We are especially happy to be launching the UFV Cascades Athletics alumni chapter at the after game party.
The Cascades are excited to welcome back some of the men and women that molded the present day programs like Kyle Graves (men’s basketball), Lyndsay Munro (women’s soccer), Carolyn Jennings (women’s volleyball) and Aaron Willms (men’s soccer).
“We are proud of the achievements of our alumni and delighted that they still value their connection to UFV. I am very grateful to the Alumni Association and the Cascades for providing this opportunity to welcome our alumni home,” said Dr. Mark Evered, President of UFV.
