Lock, men’s golf and Biagioni, women’s soccer UFV Cascades/Abbotsford Heat Athletes of the Week, week ending Sunday, September 25, 2011

Mitch Lock, a fifth year Arts major, from Mission, BC helped the Cascades men’s golf team remain in first place overall in the PACWest standings by shooting a two day score of 146 in the second regular season tournament of the year. Lock who just missed a top ten finish, by one stroke, at the tournament in the Okanagan, and the Cascades hold a two stroke lead over Capilano University with a team score of 1,163.

Chantelle Biagioni, a fourth year goalkeeper from, Pitt Meadows, BC helped the Cascades to two road ties over the weekend against Calgary and Lethbrdige, both scores were 1-1. The Art Studies major made 7 saves in the Calgary match, and was named the Cascades “Player of the Match.” On Sunday, Biagioni made a season high 10 saves in the tie with the Pronghorns.
