The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s soccer team is off to Canada’s Nation Capital and La Belle Provence is their first real test since the 2010 CIS National Championship tournament, in Charlottetown, PEI.  The defending Canada West gold medalists and CIS bronze medalists will face four of the CIS’s top teams on a seven day trip to Ottawa and Montreal.  The Cascades will face the University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Universite de Montreal and McGill University.  The trip is from August 18 to 25th.

“We are thrilled about our preseason trip to Ottawa and Montreal.  We feel this trip will help prepare for us for our upcoming season and will hopefully continue to build our reputation as being a quality women’s soccer program.  We have arranged four very difficult matches and we will be tested on this trip.  I am excited to see how our team responds to this challenge.  The trip will also all our team to see two important Canadian cities that not many of us have had the privilege of visiting.  Finally, this trip will allow our team to come together, we have brought in many new faces and not only will our new players get to play against some of the top teams in CIS they will spend 8 days experiencing this incredible trip with their new team-mates,” said Rob Giesbrecht, Head Coach women’s soccer team.
