The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades begin preseason play on Friday, August 5th, when the University of Mississippi Rebels (NCAA-SEC) women’s basketball team come to Abbotsford to face Coach Al Tuchscherer and the Cascades, at the Envision Athletic Centre, game time 7:00PM. The Cascades will play a total of 15 games in the preseason in men’s and women’s soccer and basketball against CIS and NCAA opponents before the opening kick-off in Canada West soccer the weekend of September 17th.
The men’s and women’s basketball teams will play in several preseason tournaments in October, the men will host their own tournament The Honda Way Basketball Tournament the weekend of October 28 and participate in the UBC tournament and the women will play at Carleton U’s tournament before Canada West tip off in November with regular season play.
UFV Cascades Tail Gate Party
The Department of Athletics in conjunction with its university partners Student Life, Student Union Society and Residence Life are throwing a Tail Gate Party on September 9th in Parking Lot (10) in front of the Envision Athletic Centre. The Tail Gate Party and BBQ start at 5:00PM leading up to the men’s basketball preseason game between the Cascades and Steve Nash’s alma mater Santa Clara University Broncos (NCAA-WCC). Game time set for 7:00PM.
