Sarah Wierks UFV Cascades/Abbotsford Heat Athlete of the Week

Sarah Wierks, a first year forward from Chilliwack, BC, was named the Cascades “Player of the Game” in UFV’s 78-69 loss to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues, in the inaugural CIS East regional Women’s Basketball Semi-Final game.  The  General Studies major scored 12 points, pulled down 10 total rebounds and recorded two steals in UFV’s first ever CIS National Championship level game.

The Cascades are finishing their fifth year of affiliation in both Canada West and the CIS.

 

This is the final UFV Cascades/Abbotsford Heat Athlete of the Week for the 2010-11 athletic season.  The Department of Athletics would like to thank the Abbotsford Heat Hockey team for their support and dedication to the UFV Cascades and look forward to continued support in the 2011-12 Canada West (CIS) regular season.
