UFV Cascades swept by COTR Avalanche in 5 sets, 3-2, at Envision Athletic Centre.

The College of the Rockies Avalanche swept the UFV Cascades this weekend defeating UFV, 3-2, on Saturday.  The Cascades BCCAA regular season record falls to 4-8, good for 6th place in the league standings.

This afternoon’s game was very similar to last night’s game as UFV jumped out to a quick two to one set lead before the visiting team came back to win the fourth and then the fifth set.  The win pushes COTR to 5-7 one game ahead of UFV.

The set scores were 25-23, 14-25, 25-21, 20-25 and 13-15.
Aaron Flanagan, Langley, BC led the Cascades with 17 kills and 12 digs.  Josh Togeretz, Chilliwack, BC and Peter Van Brederode, Mission, BC also recorded 12 digs.  Robert Koenig, Abbotsford, BC was Cascades leader with 5 blocks.
