UFV Cascades fall to Winnipeg Wesmen, 75-47, in Winnipeg, Manitoba

The University of Winnipeg Wesmen defeated UFV Cascades women’s basketball team, 75-47, to sweep the two game regular season series.  The Cascades Canada West record falls to 8-12, and they currently sit in 9th Place in the standings with four games remaining.

The Cascades fell behind early and fought back to trail by only two  points after the first quarter.  In the middle two quarters the Cascades were outscored by 12 points to trail by 15 after the third quarter.  In the fourth UFV was held 9 points as they fell for the 12th time this season.
The Cascades were led by Nicole Wierks, Chilliwack, BC with 10 points.  Sarah Wierks, Chilliwack, BC added 9 points and 11 total rebounds as UFV pulled down 35 boards for the game.

Winnipeg   15  22  16  22  = 75  (16-4)
