Kufske, Men’s Basketball and Roos, Women’s Volleyball UFV Cascades/Abbotsford Heat Athletes of Week

Josh Kufske, a third year post from Abbotsford, BC,  scored 20 points (13 on Saturday night), pulled down 9 total rebounds and recorded 2 steals and 1 assist, in averaging 23 minutes on the court per game, over the weekend.  The Cascades men’s basketball team played two very entertaining games at the Envision Athletic Centre falling to the University of Regina Cougars, 92-89, in double overtime, on Friday and 87-83 on Saturday.  The Cascades sit tied for 8th Place in the Canada West standings with the University of Calgary Dinos at 6-12.

Kari Roos, a second year outside hitter from Chilliwack, BC led the women’s volleyball team to a 3-0 victory over cross town rival CBC, on Thursday night.  Roos led the Cascades with 12 kills, a 38 hitting percentage, 3 aces and 8 digs.  The Cascades sit in 4th Place in the BCCAA conference with a 5-5 record.
