Cascades lose to CBC, 3-0, eliminated from BCCAA tournament

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades were defeated by their cross town rivals CBC Bearcats, 3-0, in the quarterfinal match of the 2011 BCCAA quarterfinal playoff match.  The UFV Cascades men’s volleyball team is eliminated from the tournament and finish their season with 5-10 regular season and playoff record.  The tournament if being played in Kelowna and hosted by UBC-O.

 

The Bearcats led from the opening set to closing sweeping UFV in the quarterfinal match.  During the regular season the teams play two 3 set matches, both won by CBC.  UFV did not win a set off CBC this season.

 

Ryan Koenig, Abbotsford, BC led the Cascades with 4 digs as the team recorded 17 for the game.  Aaron Flanagan, Langley, BC registered 10 kills and Dilion Collect, Cloverdale, BC  recorded 13 aces as UFV had 23 aces for the game.  The team recorded 2 blocks in the match.

 

The eight team tournament is single elimination.
