Cascades keep on rolling defeating COTR, 3-1, at Envision Athletic Centre.

The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades women’s volleyball team defeated the COTR Avalanche, 3-1, to improve their BCCAA regular season record to 6-5.  The Cascades are peaking at the right time with the BCCAA post season right around the corner the Cascades sit in 4th Place with three league games remaining.

The Cascades played well tonight losing only the second set as they sent he College of the Rockies to their 11th straight loss.  The set scores were 25-20, 18-25, 25-9 and 25-6.
“We played well tonight as a team,” said graduating fifth year senior Kim Mintenko, Prince George, BC.  “We are trying to stay focus on one match at a time and not think about the BCCAA post season tournament right now.”
“Tonight our team found their stride in the 3rd set where they took the game over. Tonight our spin servers,(Kim Mintenko, Nikita Savoy, Surrey, BC and Kayla Bruce, Surrey, BC) were on and accumulated 22 aces,” said UFV Head Coach Dennis Bokenfohr
Savoy had a 0.588 hitting percentage and 11 kills.  Jillian Saunders, Sechelt, BC led all Cascades with 5 digs and Bruce with 3 blocks. .
